These works are constructions made up of painted pieces of wood glued and "bisquited" together. The lumber is often "found" material, all the pieces are painted before the picture is put together. The pieces have a presence somewhat like a quilts as they aren’t strictly flat and it is very evident that they are composed from many smaller pieces. Never the less, I think of them as paintings.
